Collaborating to Develop and Teach Meaningful Mathematics Lessons in an Urban High School
Interested in engaging your students with inquiry-based teaching? This session will explore mathematics lessons taught in urban high school classrooms, where students explore meaningful mathematics through group collaboration. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in lesson activities related to Pascal’s Triangle and conic sections. Participants will learn about what was successful when the lessons were taught in an urban high school setting, and have the chance to ask questions and discuss options for teaching these or similar lessons in their own classrooms.
