Walk the Line (and other functions!)
We will walk a graph to use motion problems to model functions. Motion detectors, Desmos, and other technology will be used. Connecting physical motion with position graphs will excite your students as they discover relationships between position, velocity, and slope. You will leave with ready to use lessons that can be used for modeling linear functions in Algebra I all the way to modeling derivatives in Calculus. Cooperative Learning and Problem-Based Learning will be used to develop conceptual understanding that will lead to long-term retention.
